What is privatecredit?

Lending by non-bank sources such as credit funds, family offices and private investors. It is typically faster and more flexible than bank lending and priced higher.

IN PRACTICE

Private credit is not one thing. A large fund, a family office and a single private lender each assess risk differently, move at different speeds and want different protections. Matching the deal to the right kind of lender usually matters more than the headline rate.

THE TUESDAY LETTER One considered note, each week. The week's article and a short market note. Read by developers, lenders and private investors.
